Karen Le Marchant
Hello, my name is Karen and I am an accredited counsellor, registered with the National Counselling Society. I have worked and trained in both the UK and Guernsey where I have lived for 30 years. I have extensive experience working in education and health in counselling-related roles for both the voluntary sector and public service. For the past two years, have volunteered for Guernsey Bereavement Service. I am committed to my ongoing development and will be training as a relationship therapist.
I believe we all have the potential to lead fulfilling lives but sometimes we can feel confused, loose direction and become unsure which way to turn. I can offer you a safe, supportive and confidential space where we can explore any concerns or issues that may be troubling you and gently address difficult feelings, free of any judgement. As a Counsellor, I will not tell you what to do or make decisions for you but through working together, help you move forwards, create changes in your life and develop greater self-understanding.
Central to my work is the development of a trusting relationship between client and counsellor; you will be offered acceptance and understanding and, perhaps for the first time, be fully heard.
I recognise that we are all unique and so I offer a range of therapeutic approaches and skills in working with you, dependent on your needs.
